Our journey to discover the islands of the Northern Lagoon begins in the morning from Venice Santa Lucia Station, where a private boat awaits to take us through the calm waters of the lagoon. With the Venice skyline receding behind us, we at NET – Experiences in the Northeast propose an exclusive experience, accompanied by our trusted guide who will tell us stories and curiosities of these timeless places.

The first stop on our itinerary takes us to Torcello, the island that holds the origins of Venice. Here, time seems to stand still: silent canals, ancient bridges and lush nature create an enchanting landscape. We visit the splendid Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, a jewel of Byzantine art with its extraordinary golden mosaics that tell stories of faith and ancient splendor. After the visit, we treat ourselves to lunch on the island, enjoying the authentic flavors of the lagoon in a serene and picturesque setting.

Continuing our journey, we land in Mazzorbo, a lesser-known but fascinating island. Here lies one of the oldest vineyards in the lagoon, framed by vegetable gardens and gardens that evoke a rural past that is still alive. We stroll through its picturesque nooks and crannies before reaching the lively and colorful Burano, famous for its colorful houses and lace-making tradition. Our guide accompanies us through the calli, offering an authentic experience among the skilled lacemakers at work and the more authentic soul of this little lagoon pearl.

The last stop of the day takes us to a place of peace and spirituality: the island of St. Francis of the Desert. This little piece of paradise is a Franciscan monastery nestled in the countryside, where silence and nature come together in a mystical and rejuvenating atmosphere. Here the friars welcome us with their hospitality, telling us the story of St. Francis of Assisi and his stay on the island. A unique experience of recollection and beauty.

After a day of wonder and discovery, we conclude with a relaxing return to Venice aboard our private boat. Sailing to Santa Lucia Station, we take with us the memory of an unforgettable experience, a journey through the history, art and traditions of the lagoon, accompanied by the gentle movement of the water and the golden light of sunset.
