Hidden Art in Trieste and the Jesuit Underground.

How about spending an afternoon (half day) with our guide Giovanni Crupi, dedicated to the hidden art pills of the city of Trieste, with a final visit to end on a high note with the amazing and mysterious Jesuit Underground?

Indeed, the Julian city has some little-known treasures, jealously guarded in the temples of the city: from the San Giusto Hill to the Borgo Giuseppino. For this occasion, a number of works from completely different eras will be selected, which we will have the pleasure of presenting to you during the guided walk!

Canvases, painting cycles, monuments and bas-reliefs… you will be amazed at how much art is hidden in the city’s palaces and churches. A heritage that you often don’t expect, almost “an art you didn’t know you had in Trieste”… and that instead really deserves to be rediscovered.

In the second part of the visit, we will explore the 17th-century Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, a building located in the center of Trieste that is unique and full of charm. We will visit its “Jesuit Undergrounds,” that is, those rooms that have always attracted the attention of scholars of Trieste’s history and curiosities.
