Aquileia and Grado by eBike

The itinerary proposed by NET-Experiences in the Northeast begins in Grado, a picturesque seaside resort on the Adriatic Sea. After a meeting with the tour guide , the group sets off on a tour of the center of Grado, namely the so-called “castrum” and the wonderful basilicas of the ‘island.

This is followed by an introductory briefing on e-bikes and safety regulations, and we will proceed as we ride through the picturesque lagoon landscape, pedaling over a long bridge and through bike paths surrounded by nature.

Along the bike path that crosses the lagoon, our Guide will provide explanations on the natural and historical features of the area before arriving in Aquileia, one of the most important cities of ancient Rome; we will visit the Patriarchal Basilica, famous for its floor mosaics dating back to the 4th century, and the ruins, with the Roman Forum, the decumanus of Aratria Galla, the city’s river port and finally the impressive Cemetery of Heroes.

After the cultural tour, the group heads to an agritourism for a typical lunch. Here, guests can enjoy traditional Friulian dishes, prepared with local ingredients and accompanied by a tasting of regional wines. Lunch provides an opportunity to relax and savor the food and wine excellence of the area.

After lunch, the tour concludes with a relaxing e-bike ride back to Grado, again crossing the tranquil lagoon landscape. On the way back, additional stops can be made to admire the local flora and fauna, as well as take souvenir photographs of the day. The itinerary ends with the arrival in Grado, where participants can say goodbye to their guide and return their e-bikes.
