Hidden Art in Trieste and the Jesuit Underground.

How about spending an afternoon (half a day) with our guide Giovanni Crupi, exploring the city of Trieste’s hidden artistic gems, and ending on a high note with a visit to the surprising and mysterious Jesuit Cellars?

Indeed, the Julian city has some little-known treasures, jealously guarded in the temples of the city: from the San Giusto Hill to the Borgo Giuseppino. For this occasion, a number of works from completely different eras will be selected, which we will have the pleasure of presenting to you during the guided walk!

Paintings, series of paintings, monuments, and bas-reliefs… you’ll be amazed at how much art is hidden in the city’s palaces and churches. A heritage you often don’t expect—almost “art you didn’t know Trieste had”… and yet it truly deserves to be rediscovered.

In the second part of the tour, we will explore the 17th-century Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, a unique and charming building located in the center of Trieste. We will visit the “Jesuit Cellars,” the rooms that have long captivated scholars of Trieste’s history and curiosities.
